It has been a couple of months since the last time I wrote my blog. Happy New Year and Happy Spring. Can you believe we’re three months into 2021? If you haven’t noticed, 2021 is going to go way faster than 2020. Make sure you buckle down and focus on whatever goals you want to accomplish before the end the year.

In this Spring 2021 Edition of SaturYourDay, I’d like to tell you how I deal with not feeding into the negative energy when at work. Every workplace has a culture that goes hand in hand, which can either have a positive or negative effect on the total atmosphere and the people who work in this space. As an empath, I am extremely sensitive to people’s energies if someone’s energy is negative or just totally off. I usually can sense or feel it before the person even opens their mouth to speak. I believe that most people have some of type of empathic gift or power, nevertheless, they are usually unaware, or they ignore whatever what they are feeling.

Most adults that I have encountered are subconsciously like children who want to feel accepted and valued by their peers even if the person has bad intentions towards others. I have worked in settings where a coworker knew that someone else they worked with was a negative person. To stay on that person’s “good side,” they were willing to do things like buy the individual lunch, laugh at the person’s jokes even if inappropriate, and agreeing when that negative person spoke badly about other colleagues. You must watch out for these types of people especially in the workplace, because if they are talking about someone else, guess what? They will talk negatively about you when you are not around. Be careful what kind of energy you invite into your workspace.

In addition, when you consistently engage with a negative person or group of people in any place from a spiritual perspective, their karma affects your karma, meaning you are agreeing to their behavior and issues without you even realizing it. The universe cannot tell if you are joking or acting in a fake way, but the universe does realize that you are agreeing to it. Now you are adding all  this negative energy into your life without even realizing it. It can have a negative effect on new opportunities, blessings, rewards, etc. Ultimately you are altering your life path for the worse, not the better. Avoid getting wrapped up in negative drama on the job where it can delay or even remove blessings.

However, there may be a reason why the universe wants you to endure the negative encounter with your peers.  God does not allow us to endure obstacles for no reason, just as there is always a reason for every season.  There is a blessing in every obstacle that we face daily, and God gives us free will to see what we are going to do. We all have the option to either make the decision that we want to be part of the “The Get Along Gang,” or be the individual that God intended you to be.

I used to be one of those individuals who would engage in negative camaraderie with my colleagues on the job. I was about 27 years old and looking back at this situation I worked on this job for the longest period of time. All of my colleagues at the time were much older than me, and in fact, closer to my parents’ age. I engaged in buffoonery which delayed the blessings that God had waiting for me. Once I figured out that these people were negative people, I got ostracized not being a part of the so-called “in crowd.” This didn’t bother me and I could not stand working there. Since I did not pass my test the first time around, God placed me in a similar job setting, but with different people, which I will say was worse.

However, the second time around, I was determined to pass my test. I had worked on myself so much and I did not care what people had to say about me.  God has elevated me to a level in my life where I am extremely happy and valued by my staff and colleagues. It was all worth it because God moved me to a position in my life that seemed impossible 15 years ago, and even I earned my master’s degree in 2012. I had applied for a director’s position, but was door never opened until now. I was meant to go through the pain, suffering, and adversity for God to redesign me into the person he wants me to become. I still have a lot more growing to do so I am consistently evolving.

If you are reading this blog, I want to you know that you can do this same process yourself and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, with blessing on the other side. It may not be something we can see, but it is there. God does not bring you this far just to leave you here. You are arriving at a place in your life that you can’t imagine. Your blessing is right there. Unfortunately, the enemy (the devil) sees exactly what God is getting ready to bring to you, and he distracts you with negative drama on the job. Do not get distracted; get focused. I am product of it, and I am here to tell you that you can do it.

Finally, here are seven tips you can use to avoid the negative drama in the workplace so you can get your blessings:

  • Get some exercise or practice yoga. It will help to keep your spirit and mind feeling good/focused.
  • Think about 10 things or more that you are grateful for and write them down. For example: I am grateful for my hair, body, food, health, house, apartment, car, feet, legs, etc. Focus on yourself, not others.
  • When you are at work, focus on completing whatever work task, assignments, projects, etc. Keep yourself busy.
  • Be positive and nice, but do not engage any negative talk about yourself or any else. Just politely excuse yourself if the situation comes up.
  • This will take courage, but you may have to tell your colleagues that you will not engage in negativity about another colleague. (Just think about the angel wing that you will get and that you are making God and your loved ones who crossed over happy).
  • Take any free time you have when at work use to get extra work done. (Remember Idol time is the devil’s playground).
  • If you have more free time, read a book or magazine.

This new process may take some time getting used to, but when you start to do this consistently, new energy will start to flow into your life. Also, do not put a timeline on the process. For instance, don’t say, “in three weeks, work should be much better.” When things don’t happen the way you want them to, you will be upset with yourself and the process. Just take it step-by-step and day-by-day; you may start to notice change in 3 or 6 months or even a year from now. It takes time for change and good energy to be redirected into your life.  Your future in the spiritual world will alter for the better, and you will enjoy the manifestation of it in the physical plane (earth plane).  I know that it is hard being the odd person out, but believe me there are rewards at the end of the tunnel.

God believes in you, I believe you, and YOU GOT THIS!
