  • The American Hotel will host the FBAC for its first open mic night. This free event is open to the public to participate, or simply enjoy local musicians while in the beautiful American Hotel. The event will be held in the banquet room right off of the lounge area. 
  • This will be a great venue and celebration of local musicians. Musicians who have never played in Freehold will find this a perfect opportunity to play for their first time in our growing music and arts community.

The Freehold Borough Arts Council is excited to announce the return of a favorite Freehold holiday tradition. On Friday, December 12, 2014 at 7:30pm, under the musical direction of Marina Alexander, The Arcadian Chorale will perform at the St. Rose of Lima RC Church located at 16 McLean Street, Freehold. 

The event will be a “Freehold Fa La La” with some anticipated surprises. Be sure to follow FBAC media for a more detailed announcement in the very near future. Also be sure to visit the Arcadian Chorale at their web site www.arcadianchorale.org 

A Freehold Art Society exhibit at the Freehold Public Library was hung on Tuesday, September 9 and will remain on exhibit until November 17, 2014. A new show will then be accepted. Any artist, amateur or professional may enter that show on November 17 and 18. Oasis Players to Perform at Museum

The Oasis Players, a Monmouth County-based cabaret troupe, will return to the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County on November 30, 2014, at 2 PM.  The program, “A Musical Parade,” will take the audience through a century of music, celebrating composers Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, and Richard Rodgers. The cabaret salutes the 50th anniversary of Broadway’s Hello Dolly, Funny Girl, and Fiddler on the Roof, and the finale will recognize contemporary Tony Award composers Jason Robert Brown and Adam Guettel.

The cabaret marks the fifth appearance of Oasis Players at JHMOMC! The event is produced and directed by Robert Weinstein, with music direction provided by Justin Ryan who is also on keyboards. Featured entertainers include Nathan DeDeo, Sandi Edelstein, Scott Segall, Diane Parker, Amy Fredericks. Lauren Weiner, Debbie Higgins, Dorothy Dobkowski, Ed Lamb, and Mary O’Connor. Rumor has it that the audience will help perform as well!  We hope you will join us in welcoming these talented performers.

Tickets for the cabaret can be purchased for $18.00 for members, $20.00 for non-members.  Bring a non-perishable food item for the local food bank and receive a $3.00 discount on admission price.

First Presbyterian Church of FreeholdThe Freehold Borough Arts Council is planning on its second Arts and Crafts Vendor event on the first Saturday in December. This event will feature a variety of talented artists and crafters from around Monmouth County.

Last years first run event was quite successful and we are happy to announce that many of last years vendors will be returning. We also have some new artists and crafters joining us. The public will find a unique blend of diverse artists and crafters to choose from.

Museum Offers A Children’s Craft Program to Celebrate HanukkahThe Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County will present A Children’s Craft Program to Celebrate Hanukkah, onThursday, November 20, 2014, from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM at Around the Corner Art Center, 290 Mounts Corner Drive, Freehold, NJ. Around the Corner Art Center is located next to the Museum in the Mounts Corner Shopping Center.  This is the third year that a Hanukkah craft project is being offered by the Museum.During the program, which is subsidized by the Museum’s Druin Education Fund, children ages 4 and up will be guided by the staff at the Art Center to decorate either an original ceramic Menorah for Hanukkah or a ceramic Hanukkah platter.  Parents are encouraged to assist their child with the project.  After completion that day, the piece will be dried and fired, and returned to the Museum for pickup the following week.

The cost is $10.00 for each child, includes all supplies needed and is non-refundable. Reservations are required in advance so that sufficient supplies are available.  Space is limited so make your reservations early.
