Adam Hilligardt and Neil McCloskey are songwriters/musicians from St. Louis, Missouri. The two have been writing together since 1994 and though the pop duo has been in several bands over the years, they have always felt better focusing on their songwriting.

Neil and Adam have had the privilege of getting professional, constructive feedback and great inspiration from their families. Adam’s father (Fred), worked for Motown Records as a studio musician and songwriter for about 10 years. Neil’s Godfather (Tony Saputo), was a drummer in Reba McEntire’s band until his life was cut short in a plane crash in 1991.

Neil and Adam believe that music is a blessing and a gift.

The two love to share it as much as possible and want to make people feel great about themselves through tasteful songwriting. Neil and Adam do their own instrumentation with every song they write. (With the exception of contributions from studio musicians and engineers who play important roles in current projects).

Some of the duo’s favorite artists/bands include: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Men at Work (Colin Hay), The Police, Tears for Fears, The Beatles, The Beach Boys (Brian Wilson), Peter Gabriel and U2.

Neil and Adam love the motto “Don’t bore us, get to the chorus.” So naturally they will always strive to deliver an attractive sound that has something for everyone to enjoy.

“Inspiration comes to us in the form of music. It chooses who it wants to work through, only then can the gift be shared.”
