Dispatcher (with truck and port experience)

Dispatcher needed for Logistics Company in Edison, NJ

 

Logistics Company located in Edison, NJ is in need of 2 experienced Dispatchers. LTL company works with large box retailers as well as smaller companies within the US.

Dispatchers will work behind the scenes to ensure that truck drivers have cargo to carry and stick to their appointed arrival times and destinations.

Since the Dispatchers will be the backbone of the trucking industry, you will be heavily in charge of  helping truck drivers to concentrate on routes and roadways and to safely deliver their cargoes.

Requirements

The qualified candidates will:

* Keep track of the drivers’ daily progress.

* Responsible for checking drivers in and out of terminals and keeping track of trucking   trip records as well as filing and other office duties.

* Will deal with the drivers throughout their shifts and deal with customers.

* Candidates will have excellent communication skills to relay instructions and orders to truckers out on the road.

*Will also possess problem solving skills and be able to handle unforeseen situations in a fast-paced environment.

* Must be able to multitask as they are usually monitoring several vehicles at the same time.

* Will have excellent time-management skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations and fast-paced environments because one of the main duties is to prioritize drivers’ schedules, superior organizational abilities are required.

* Being comfortable working with computer software is important because the Dispatcher will  keep track of  drivers’ schedules with sophisticated WMS systems.

* Having  previous experience in a decision-making role is a huge plus.

* Experience with coordinating groups of people or tasks also helps.

*The right candidate will also spend part of their days negotiating the best rates with vendors, the most cost-effective delivery options with customers and the most efficient routes with drivers, all while answering phones when drivers need assistance.

* They also fulfill an administrative role by filing the appropriate paperwork, monitoring driver progress, processing orders and managing driver concerns.

 

Candidates for this position will have experience with truck and port dispatching. Rail a huge plus but not required.

Maintenance Technician needed- Middlesex County
Company: Remedy Intelligent Staffing

Description

Client in Edison, NJ is in need of an experienced Maintenance Technician.
This is a temp to hire opportunity.

Job Summary:

Perform maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep plant, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition; working in many various and diversified capacities required in maintenance.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1)  Work involves a wide range of methods and procedures on a  variety of moderately complex work and routine duties requiring considerable care to adequately and properly diagnose, dismantle , repair, lubricate, reassemble, or otherwise work on general maintenance in varied capacities of such occupations as electrician, pipefitter, machine repairer, plumber, millwright, welder and burner.

2)  Start, observe, operate or otherwise activate equipment to detect or verify malfunction or correction of same.

3) Use a variety of testing equipment to assist with troubleshooting efforts.

4) Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment as preventative maintenance.

5) Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble simple equipment parts, components, and accessories.

6) Assist higher skilled employees on more complicated work and work as part of a team on heavy work or large projects.

7) Adjust mechanisms and perform all other assignments as required and directed.

8) Observes and promotes all safety and 5’S standards.

Requirements

Additional Responsibilities:

1) Perform routine duties related to air pollution control and shipping out for disposal of the hazardous waste material (arc furnace dust) from the baghouse dust collector.

2) Maintain records, parts, and work orders.

3) Perform all required safety related procedures related to the safety of self or others such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, etc.

4) Assist with plant housekeeping efforts and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.

5) When operating mobile equipment and/or overhead cranes, follow all prescribed safety guidelines and perform daily checks to insure equipment is maintained in proper working order.

Education: Required technical knowledge and the training general applicable in the particular field of heavy industrial machine repair or closely related specialized occupation. Ability to work with equipment specifications and precision measuring instruments. Equivalent to 1-2 years applied trades training.

Experience: Over 1+ years up to 3 years.

Other:
Responsible for a large variety of hand tools and some specialized apparatus such as ohmmeters and test lights or other tools to particular trade.
1st interview with client will be an evaluation/written test with Math/Mechanical/Hydraulic questions. Must pass this before interviewing with Maintenance Manager.

Pay: $22-$25.00/hr

Hours: Monday thru Friday/ dayshift hours

Payroll Specialist- Avenel, NJ

Description

Our client has an opening for a Payroll Specialist at their new 500,000 square foot warehouse located in Rahway /Carteret area.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of a variety of daily functions including but not limited to; data-entry, payroll, report development and generation, internal and external customer communications, accounts payable, and filing.

This role will assist the Human Resources Manager with HR functions with integrity and discretion when necessary.

Will also be responsible for maintaining client’s standard of safety, accuracy and productivity.

Requirements

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for:

* Administering client policies and procedures in conjunction with management
* Accurately recording attendance, preparing attendance sheets for managers and updating information in the ADP E-time system
* Obtaining vendor information and requesting quotes for competitive pricing
* Coordinating supply and services purchases for the facility
* Verifying and processing payments for all Accounts Payable Invoicing utilizing Oracle Financials
* Ensuring accurate and timely submission of bi-weekly payroll, runs / maintains payroll reports; creating documentation for FMLA, LOA and CobraOrganizing teammate incentives (Perfect attendance, Safety Bingo, etc)
* Assisting in the coordination of and set up for various teammate functions
* Maintaining client’s standard of safety, accuracy and productivity
* Answering phones; email correspondence; communicating in a professional manner with all managers, teammates, vendors and customers
* Operating office equipment; fax machine, copier, scanner, computer and shredder

Qualifications –

The successful candidate will have:

* Two (2) or more years combined experience in Clerical/Customer Service, preferably in warehouse  environment
* Proficiency with MS Office applications including; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
* Knowledge of payroll procedures using Enterprise E-time and ADP EV5

The right candidate will support the whole operation within the Returns Department.

The main focus will be to improve and reduce returns through statistics, analysis and constant communication with vendors, clients (B2B & B2C), employees and upper management.

Requirements

Some key responsibilities:

Will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
This key player will lead the returns team as well as train and supervise as needed.
The right candidate will also be energetic, have excellent communication skills and be creative to implement processes to achieve improvements within the department and help the company grow.
Will be handling the reverse logistics of the organization, issuing return authorization and credits, and creating reports to management of all the returns as well as forecasting and statistics.

Routing / Scheduling Clerk- Edison, NJ

Logistics Company located in Edison, NJ is in need of an experienced  Routing/Scheduling Clerk .

The right candidate will coordinate between various logistic departments to control the flow of work, be it shipping or road transport.

This position will also be responsible for the efficient dispatch of any freight and handle associated administration.

The Routing/Scheduling Clerk is instrumental to ensuring the smooth running of a logistics operation, issuing routes to drivers and correct shipment schedules whilst liaising with vendors and customers to ensure that all administration is taken care of.

The right candidate  will be responsible for much of the logistics administration in both road transport and shipping.

Requirements

Key skills and qualifications:

 

Hold at least 1-3 years relevant qualifications associated with a Routing/Scheduling Clerk.

Candidates will have experience working with clients such as Macy*s, TJMaxx, Homegoods, Wal-Mart, JCPenney, etc.

 

Will have excellent communication skills to resolve complaints and eliminate delays by closely working with supervisors and personnel to assess progress and improve efficiency.

 

Will be able to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously, arranging shipment details, keeping record of all inventory, files and customer follow up.
