Sapien Trace formed in late 2017 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Members: Mark Dickinson (vocals and lyrics), Dan Baldwin (drums) and Alex Brand (bass).
The three piece dubstep/electronica band with a rock edge have been described as ‘throwing you into a sci-fi world full of jackhammer beats intense, synthesiser riffs, distinctive vocals and could be the North East’s best kept musical secret”.

* The band have headlined their local O2 Academy stage 2.* Airplay on BBC Introducing Newcastle. * Reviewed in The Crack magazine and NE Volume. * The band have recently been invited to play on Oxjam’s next fundraising album.

On the song “Precipice” the band said:
“The inspiration for the song came from the many artists we like listening to, especially Daft Punk’s combination of disco, rhythm-and-blues, and the glam rock sounds of the 80s. The lyrics of Precipice are about supporting friends through your life, when they are at the edge and ready to fall.  Whatever issue or self destructive pattern they have, not deserting them in their hour of need”.
