Style and Soul with Lady K Epole February 17, 2014 Jerz's Life, Network Hello loves, it’s been a while and I hope you all have been enjoying the New Year thus far. Spring is starting to creep up on us… it’s a New Year full of possibilities and opportunities and I would like to give you a “nugget” on change and transition… As we begin to slowly transition our wardrobes to reflect and compliment the beauty of Spring, I see some great changes coming for many of us who have been working towards progress and pursuing success. As far as I’m concerned, the first step towards a graceful & smooth transition is preparedness. You must be prepared for change at any time by being willing and able to adapt. Being able to move from one place in life to another on any level whether we are speaking literally or figuratively, requires agility and flexibility. Basically what I’m saying is, get rid of your excess baggage as there is no way that you will be able to move forward or achieve your purpose while dragging dead weight. Purge. This will enable you to progress through life much more effectively. You must first identify what that excess baggage is & then handle it. Either confront it head-on or simply let it go. Do whatever is necessary to get rid of baggage in order for you to move forward… and while you are identifying your baggage… please… be real with yourself for goodness sake! Change can be joyous and scary and exciting and nerve-wrecking all at the same time. It is also absolutely necessary to experience growth and progress. If you are in agreement with the changes that are taking place in your life you must acknowledge, accept and embrace the changes in order to fully reap the benefits of this movement in your life. If it is time for you to switch jobs or end a relationship, for example, although it may be scary and risky to you when you think about the new position you will be in, you must take that first step of faith. Push yourself. Take the first step for the greater good. No pain, no gain. Let’s imagine if you could tell a little creepy, crawly caterpillar that it is destined to be a beautiful, colorful, butterfly that can flutter in the air gracefully moving from flower to flower. Think about it… could you imagine if you were that caterpillar and someone told you about your future? Would you believe it? Well, you could very well be that caterpillar destined to fly if you take that first step and embrace the process of change for the purpose of progress to be what you are destined to be. Making change work for you comes down to faith and determination. You must believe to achieve honey! So let’s talk fashion. Like I said earlier, Spring is soon to be in the air and we are going to be transitioning. Get rid of that excess baggage to prepare to be Spring and Summer 2014 fabulous. Here are some tips as you evaluate your wardrobes for a purge: 1. Is it still in good condition? 2. Does it fit properly? If not, do you love it enough to spend the money on tailoring it? And if so, get it done! 3. Is this a classic, versatile piece that you can essentially wear forever? 4. Does wearing it make you feel beautiful? 5. Have you worn it in the last 6-9 months? … Happy purging & progressing my people. By the way, I’ve been doing a little research for us & we all need to make sure we are doing our crunches because crop-tops are huge this upcoming season. You may have noticed them last year as well, but they are back full-force for Spring 2014. I’m seeing everything from light denim, to bold stripes, colors and prints, to muted neutrals with edgy details, looks from preppy to sporty to menswear-chic… So get ready to transition! I will definitely keep you posted on spring styles… stay tuned! Until next time… Peace, love & progress. – Lady K Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
